Cafe Divine

My first meal in SF after a long drive from LA. The actual plan was to visit Mama's but sadly it wasn't open. Chanced upon this cafe and we decided to try it out since we were hungry and needed proper breakfast after eating lots of junk food during the drive. The food didn't disappoint and it was good enough to satisfy our stomach.

Waffle topped with banana & walnuts, served with maple syrup

Bennies from Heaven
2 poached eggs, smoked salmon & spinach, served on a house-baked cheddar & scallion biscuit, smothered with hollandaise sauce

26 Beach

My friend living in LA recommended this place for breakfast and the food here is really delicious! We wanted to dine in the garden area but all the tables were taken so we had to settle for the normal dining area. I forgot to take pictures of the garden area (check out the pictures on their website) but it was really pretty and will be a good cosy place to enjoy breakfast.

Blueberry Chicken Salad
grilled chicken, tomatoes, fresh blueberries, crumbled goat cheese & walnuts, served with fresh blueberry vinaigrette

Southern Comfort
grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce, scrambled eggs & breakfast potatoes

The Full Monty
French toast stuffed with black forest ham, swiss cheese & blackberry jam

The Polar Bear
2 French croissant with vanilla ice cream & fresh berries

Peach Garden

Custard Bun
I finally got to taste this custard bun and it was really good! The custard flowed out from the soft bun and I could taste the salted egg yolk too. This is definitely my favourite bun on any dim sum menu!

Steamed Siew Mai with Conpoy
I used to avoid eating siew mai (until today) because I remember eating one which had a lot of fats and I was put off by the strong taste of pork. However I decided to try this one as it doesn't look very 'pork-ish' and I was glad I did because it tastes more like prawns and not the usual pork siew mai. I guess this is one of the few places where I will dare to eat siew mai (because I do not like pork).

Steamed Fresh Prawn Dumpling

Deep-fried Bean Skin Roll with Seafood

Deep-fried Prawn with Crispy Vermicelli

Carrot cake with X.O sauce

Braised Shark's Fin with Fresh Crab Meat
The soup was rather bland so I only ate the crab meat and shark's fin in the soup.

Braised Broccoli with Fresh Crab Meat and Roe

Fried Prawns with Wasabi Salad Cream
I have to admit my picture does not do justice to this dish because the colour looks rather unappealing but it was yummy! The prawns were crunchy and it went really well with the wasabi salad cream, which only had a hint of wasabi.

Roasted Spring Chicken and Roasted Pork

Deep-fried Soon Hock Fish with Superior Soya Sauce

These few dishes are the ones I like from the a la carte buffet. Sadly, the custard buns are not included in the buffet. $28++ for the buffet (for UOB card holders) is really worth it for the wide variety they have in the menu, with 30 different dishes to choose from. I am definitely going back, especially for their custard buns!

The Queen And Mangosteen

Fish & Chips with Curry Tartare Sauce ($14)
One of the best fish & chips that I've eaten!

White Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ice Cream ($12)
The chocolate ice cream was really good and the sweetness of the white chocolate cake was just right.

Cambridge Burnt Cream ($10)
Rich custard topped with a layer of burnt sugar. A really good Creme Brulee!
